Premier’s three-year ballistic testing programme heralded as amazing success
Exciting News Alert! After three years of intense examination, we’re thrilled to announce the successful completion of Premier’s ballistic-testing programme!
Our steel and glass security installations faced the toughest challenges at DJ Goode, the UK’s top ballistic testing house, emerging successfully from FB2 to FB7 standards, including 50-Cal, 50-Cal AP and 14.5mm AP rounds.
Premier MD Neil Johns witnessed more than 1000 rounds being fired into our doors, screens and louvres. It was both fascinating and nerve-wracking, but the results speak for themselves.
The grand finale was an intensive test of Premier’s Titan Ultra-Lite SR3-FB4 glass doors, showcasing their resilience against an intense series of ballistic attacks. As you can see in the photo, they passed with flying colours.
Perhaps the most exciting part was the ultra-challenging assault on the glass centre. We not only met but exceeded regulatory requirements of firing three bullets into a 120mm attack area. We reduced the target area to 33mm and you can imagine our delight when the assessors gave us the thumbs up.
With ballistic testing wrapped up, our focus now shifts to blast assessments. Premier’s curtain-walling, louvres, screens, and fully-glazed doors are already achieving remarkable blast resistance levels—EXV 10, EXV 15, and EXV 25, respectively.
