Premier Security Ballistic & Blast Ltd

Our LPS 1175 certified range of SR3 C5 Sliding security doors represents the gold standard in physical security, providing a rigorous barrier against forced entry for high-risk environments. Every door in this series is verified by the LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board) and carries a Red Book Live listing, ensuring proven performance under attack. Choose a security rated solution that combines world-class engineering with the peace of mind of a Secured by Design accreditation.

“Our high-security sliding doors are certified to LPS 1175 C5 (SR3) and are engineered for maximum resistance against forced entry, persistent tool attacks, and ram-raid attempts

Technical Threat Levels & Compliance

What is the difference between SR2 (B3) and SR3 (C5)?

The primary difference lies in the rate of resistance against specific toolsets and attack durations. An SR2 (technical class B3) product is tested to withstand an attack from Tool Category B, which includes crowbars, chisels and bolt cutters, for a 3-minute period.

In contrast, an SR3 (technical class C5) door provides a higher level of certified security. It must resist more advanced tools, including manual hacksaws and specialised foil-wrapped tools, for a full 5 minutes of continuous attack. While SR2 is ideal for medium-risk commercial sites, SR3 is the preferred specification for high security areas like data centres where the threat of a determined intruder is greater.

How does LPS 1175 Issue 8 classify security products?

The 1175 latest issue 8 update moved away from simple “SR” numbers to a more precise matrix. This system uses a letter (the tool kit) and a number (the resistance time in minutes). For example, a B3 rating tells you exactly which tools were used and how long they were held at bay.

This classification allows us to manufacture the perfect sliding security solution for your site. By understanding the tool kit and time matrix, architects can ensure conformity with the specific risk profile of a building, rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether you need an a1 entry-level deterrent or a C5 fortress-grade sliding Door, the LPS 1175 framework ensures transparency.

Why is ‘Secured by Design’ essential for your project?

Secured by Design is a police-led initiative that focuses on “designing out crime.” For a security door to be approved, it must undergo rigorous testing by the BRE to ensure it meets the Police Preferred Specification.

Specifying SBD-approved products often leads to lower insurance premiums and fulfills legal requirements for many public sector projects. It guarantees that your physical security measures are not just cosmetic, but are security products that have been proven to delay an intruder long enough for an alarm to be triggered and a response to arrive.

Product Features & Customisation

Our security Doors are engineered for longevity and performance. We utilize carbon steel construction to provide maximum structural integrity. For the Door infill, we offer several options to suit your site’s aesthetic and security needs, including 358 anti-climb mesh, high-density weldmesh, or traditional vertical bar designs.

To ensure your installation withstands the elements, every unit undergoes a galvanise process followed by a high-durability powder coated finish. We can provide any RAL colour to ensure the Door matches your corporate branding while maintaining a protective coating that prevents corrosion.

The slide mechanism is designed for a smooth, high-frequency clear opening. For safety and automation, our control systems include:

  • Safety edges and safety induction loops to prevent accidents.
  • Loop detector technology for seamless vehicle access.
  • Integrated access control interfaces for remote management.

Compliance, Safety, and Trust

Every sliding Door we supply is fully assembled and tested to ensure total compliance with the Loss Prevention Standard. Our security doors are designed to integrate with existing alarm and detector systems, providing a unified security front.

Safety is never compromised for security. Our automated systems include a manual override for emergency situations and high-grade lock mechanisms to prevent tampering. To maintain the integrity of your certification, we offer comprehensive Door servicing and installation by LPCB-approved engineers. This ensures that your security Door continues to operate at peak performance for years to come.

Certification & Standards

Our C5 series represents an elite tier of protection, engineered to withstand professional-grade attack methods. These security door sets are fully accredited to international standards, providing verified protection for high-risk environments where a standard Door would fail.

  • Security Rating: Certified to LPS 1175 Issue 8 C5 (SR3) for high-level forced entry resistance. This rate of protection guarantees a 5-minute delay against an expanded toolkit (Category C), including powered drills and heavy-duty manual tools.
  • Ballistic Rating: Integrated B3 / FB4 protection against firearm threats. While the frame and infill provide C5 physical resistance, the core is enhanced to meet ballistic conformity, protecting occupants from both manual breaches and high-velocity projectiles.
  • Thermal & Safety: Fully compliant with UK building regulations and LPCB requirements. These security doors are designed to offer massive structural strength without compromising on emergency manual override functionality or fire safety.

FAQ’s

Yes. Our sliding Doors are designed to be compatible with most third-party access control systems, including biometric scanners, proximity cards, and remote intercoms.

We can design and fabricate our Doors to suit various widths. Depending on the site requirements and the specific SR3 configuration, we can engineer solutions for very large clear openings suitable for heavy vehicle access.

Absolutely. Premier’s SR3 (C5) sliding Doors are specifically engineered with reinforced carbon steel and heavy-duty tracks to provide significant resistance against ram-raid attempts.

To ensure continued compliance and safety (especially for automated systems), we recommend professional Door servicing at least twice a year.
