Premier Security Consultants of Ilford, Essex recently completed the fabrication and installation of 38 steel louvre doors and screens at the impressive Maiden Lane, Camden development in North London.
Premier was engaged by SISK Contractors to produce and install the louvres as part of Camden Council’s Community Investment development which provided 273 new homes, including:
- 74 council homes for people from the existing estate
- 52 Camden Living rented homes
- 147 homes for private sale
- Refurbishments across all 443 remaining flats on Maiden Lane
- New facilities for the local community, including new children’s play areas
Premier were also recently engaged at the nearby Agar Grove development to fabricate and install 60 and 90-minute steel security fire doors for the UK’s largest Passivhaus development.
The Agar Grove development will eventually see over 500 new homes built for Camden Borough Council, and to achieve the highest levels of sustainability and energy efficiency within the buildings, the #Passivhaus ‘gold standard’ was selected.
Premier were commissioned by lead construction company Hill Partnerships, based in Waltham Abbey, Essex who recognised that we are among a few select companies in the UK capable of achieving steel doors that achieve Passivhaus U-Value standard.
Passivhaus is a standard which requires high levels of insulation and triple-glazed windows wrapped in an air-tight shell. Each home also has a ventilation system which continually provides a supply of clean air while removing stale, humid air.
Agar Grove is an estate regeneration development and is part of Camden’s Community Investment Programme, in partnership with the London Borough of Camden.
