Multi-Million Pound Burglaries in London
An international gang of thieves who burgled the West London homes of socialite Tamara Ecclestone, footballer Frank Lampard and billionaire Leicester City football club owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha escaping with more than £26m in cash and jewelry, simply entered the properties using brute force and muscle, a court had been told.
The multi-million-pound properties – Ecclestone’s 55-room Kensington mansion is valued at £55m – were all equipped with state-of-the-art alarms and cameras, but they did nothing to prevent the gang from breaking through doors and windows in the 2019 raids.
Neil Johns, MD of Premier Security & Fire Consultants Ltd, whose company manufactures high-level, front-line security windows, doors, and screens achieving counter-terrorism levels of security, was amazed that such high-valued properties were not protected by the highest grade of first-defence hardware.
He said: “These robberies once again highlight the issue of relying solely on electronic security options ahead of impenetrable hardware tested to the highest of standards. Cameras, sensors and alarms have their place in the protection of properties, but they seldom stop the determined criminal equipped with the right tools. Only robust hardware will do that.”

Premier Security Launch LPCB-Tested SR3 Curtain-Walling System
Earlier this week, Premier Security & Fire was proud to receive three new LPCB Certificates of Product Approval from the world-renowned testing house, the BRE (Building Research establishment). Following extensive testing with the BRE, we have added a full LPS1175 C5 (SR3) Jansen-façade curtain-walling system to our portfolio of approved security products, all of which also carry Secured by Design accreditation. C5 (SR3) accreditation places Premier products at counter-terrorism defence levels.
The certification offers single-leaf door-sets with a maximum structural opening height of up to SIX metres. Double door sets can be up to 3.06m high and all are tested and approved with state-of-the art locking and access control systems.
Included in the system are fixed windows and screens, both with unlimited height and width approval.
