Premier recently completed an order to fabricate and install 60 and 90-minute steel security fire doors at UK’s largest #Passivhaus development at Agar Grove in Camden, London so it is with much pride to read that the project has been shortlisted for The Sunday Times British Homes Awards.
The Agar Grove development will eventually see over 500 new homes built for Camden Borough Council, and to achieve the highest levels of sustainability and energy efficiency within the buildings, the #Passivhaus ‘gold standard’ was selected.
Premier were commissioned by lead construction company Hill Partnerships, based in Waltham Abbey, Essex who recognised that we are among a few select companies in the UK capable of achieving steel doors that achieve Passivhaus U-Value standard.
Passivhaus is a standard which requires high levels of insulation and triple-glazed windows wrapped in an air-tight shell. Each home also has a ventilation system which continually provides a supply of clean air while removing stale, humid air.
Agar Grove is an estate regeneration development and is part of Camden’s Community Investment Programme, in partnership with the London Borough of Camden.
Architect’s Hawkins Brown has been shortlisted in the Sunday Times British Homes Awards in the ‘Development of the year (more than 100 homes)’ category. You can read more about the awards at http://www.britishhomesawards.co.uk/
