Explore LPS 1175 ratings →Premier Security Ballistic & Blast Ltd is developing The Premier Vault, a motorised, luxury goods display cabinet designed to bring cutting-edge steel security engineering to high-value retail.
The Premier Vault is Premier Security’s motorised display cabinet for high-value retail: the physical protection of a steel-engineered enclosure, in a unit built to present luxury goods on the shop floor. Glazed with LPS 1270 glass and sledgehammer resistant, it is being developed for jewellery, watches and other stock where the display itself has become a target. Stainless steel construction, app control, internal lighting, mobility with floor anchoring and alarm integration are all part of the design.
300 seconds of claw hammer attack. Then 300 seconds by a sledgehammer. Third-party strength-testing of the Premier Vault continues.
Built to present luxury goods on the shop floor.
The glazed section is raised and lowered under powered control, with app control of the unit.
A steel-engineered enclosure in stainless steel, from a specialist security manufacturer.
Glazed using glass to the LPCB standard for intruder resistant security glazing.
Filmed under 300 seconds of claw hammer attack, then 300 seconds of sledgehammer.
Lighting inside the cabinet to present the stock on display.
Can be moved around the shop floor, with floor anchoring to secure it in position.
Integrates with your store’s alarm system.
Strength-testing continues, and world-renowned assessors will test the unit.
A display in a high-value store has two jobs: to show the stock, and to slow down anyone trying to take it. LBC reported in February 2026 that UK jewellers suffered 22 robberies across 2025, followed by 10 attacks on jewellery stores in January 2026 alone. More than £2m of necklaces, chains and watches was taken from retailers in the first six weeks of the year, and one January incident involved masked men with a sledgehammer.
The Premier Vault is being developed with that kind of attack in mind, which is why it pairs a steel-engineered enclosure with LPS 1270 glass and is being strength-tested with hammers on the complete unit.
Whether you are comparing suppliers or briefing a shopfitter, these are the five areas to look at first.
Assess the whole enclosure as well as the glass. An attacker will go for the frame, the joints and the fixings if those give way first. The Premier Vault is built around a steel-engineered enclosure in stainless steel, and our hammer footage shows the complete unit under attack.
Ask for the standard and the full rating. LPS 1270 is the LPCB standard for intruder resistant security glazing, and it gives the glass three security ratings: local penetration, hand hole access and complete access. For a retail display, pay close attention to hand hole access, because a thief does not need a person-sized opening to reach a tray of watches.
The Premier Vault uses LPS 1270 glass. LPS 1270 rates the glass alone, so it tells you how the glazing performs and not how the complete cabinet performs.
A secure cabinet still has to sell. Look at sightlines, lighting, how much frame sits between the customer and the product, and how staff reach the stock during trading. The Premier Vault has internal lighting to present the stock, and it is motorised with app control, so the glazed section is raised and lowered under powered control. Finishes and display layout are matters to raise with our in-house design team.
Strong glass means little if the whole unit can be tipped or dragged away. Mobility helps when a store layout changes, but the cabinet must stay put once it is in position, so The Premier Vault pairs mobility with floor anchoring. Ask what any cabinet weighs and whether the floor can take it, particularly on upper storeys and raised floors.
Display security works best as part of the wider system, and The Premier Vault offers alarm integration. For any cabinet, ask how it links to CCTV and access control as well. For any motorised or app controlled unit, also ask what happens during a power failure and how the mechanism and app are protected. Our specialists can talk these points through with your security team or consultant.
Third-party strength-testing of the Premier Vault continues. World-renowned assessors will test The Premier Vault. Once accredited, it will transform luxury goods retail security, pairing uncompromising protection with a display built for the world’s most exclusive stores.

Premier aims to go one better than its competitors by bringing cutting-edge steel security engineering to high-value retail. The aim is to set the industry standard for display security in luxury retail. The Premier Vault comes from the same manufacturer behind our certified security doors, windows and curtain walling.
These certifications apply to Premier Security’s existing products. They do not apply to The Premier Vault until it has been assessed.

Not yet. Third-party strength-testing continues, and world-renowned assessors will test The Premier Vault. Premier Security’s existing LPCB and Secured by Design certifications apply to its other products and do not extend to The Premier Vault.
The Premier Vault uses LPS 1270 glass. LPS 1270 is the LPCB standard for intruder resistant security glazing, with separate ratings for local penetration, hand hole access and complete access. It rates the glass alone and does not rate the complete cabinet. Read more in our LPS 1270 security glazing guide.
The film is a 34-second edit of a 10-minute attack on the unit: 300 seconds with a claw hammer, then 300 seconds with a sledgehammer. It also shows the motorised glazed section being raised and lowered.
No. A formal rating comes from assessment against a published standard, with defined tools and test conditions. Hammer footage is useful evidence of strength, but it is not a certification, so always ask a supplier which standard applies and who carried out the assessment.
A lockable display cabinet restricts casual access, and most are not designed to resist tools. A display vault is engineered to resist physical attack, so the enclosure, glazing and fixings all matter as much as the lock.
Not automatically. A display vault protects stock while it is on show, whereas overnight storage requirements are usually set by your insurer. Check your policy before changing how stock is held out of hours.
Both apply to security glazing. EN 356 classifies glass using a drop test at the lower levels and a machine-driven hammer and axe at the higher levels. LPS 1270 uses a person who can vary tools and method during the test, and reports separate ratings for local penetration, hand hole access and complete access. One rating does not convert to the other.
A display cabinet is one layer. Premier Security’s high-value retail security solutions also cover security doors, shopfronts, air locks, retractable grilles and vehicle mitigation, so the shop front and the display can be considered together.
